This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route at Belvédère offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for seasoned hikers.
The trail spans approximately 16.1 kilometers with an elevation gain of 890 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous trek that will take around 6 hours to complete. Before embarking on this journey, ensure you have plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear.
Starting from the parking area, you'll pass by the Camping Le Pré des Arbres campsite at the beginning of the trail. Around the 3.5-kilometer mark, you'll reach the Cabane de Cyprien shelter where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding views.
As you continue on, you'll encounter several noteworthy points of interest, including the Col de l'Homme Mort, Col Nu, and Col Pointu saddles, each offering breathtaking vistas of the natural landscape. Additionally, don't miss out on the Belvédère viewpoint at the 8.05-kilometer mark, providing panoramic views of the area.
Along the way, you'll also come across other viewpoints such as those at 3.71, 4.69, and 5.31 kilometers, each offering unique perspectives of the surroundings.
