This hiking route to Col du Bec is an extremely difficult 10.493-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 1386 meters. The total duration of the hike is estimated to be around 5 hours and 54 minutes.
The trail begins at a parking area located at the start of the route. Make sure to bring plenty of water as there is a water source just 0.04 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. As you continue on, you will come across more water sources at 0.14 kilometers and 0.46 kilometers from the start.
About 3 kilometers into the hike, you will reach an information point where you can learn more about the area. Further along the trail, at around 2.23 kilometers from the start, there is a viewpoint where you can take a break and enjoy the scenery.
Midway through the hike, at 3.02 kilometers from the start, you will reach another viewpoint called L'Âne. This is a great spot to rest and take in the views.
As you approach the destination, Col du Bec, at 5.25 kilometers from the start, you will reach a saddle with a viewpoint. This is the perfect place to stop and appreciate the beauty of the surroundings before heading back.
