This challenging out-and-back hiking route takes you to the stunning Cima di Ciriegia, also known as Cime de Cerise. The trail spans a total distance of 9.6 kilometers with an elevation gain of 909 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
Starting at the parking area, you will make your way through the picturesque alpine landscape. Approximately 0.7 kilometers into the hike, you will come across the Rifugio Regina Elena, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments.
Continuing on, at around 2.47 kilometers from the start, you will encounter ancient ruins that offer a glimpse into the area's historic past. As you trek further, at approximately 3.98 kilometers, you will reach more ruins that add to the allure of the hike.
Midway through the hike, around the 4-kilometer mark, you will reach the Col de Cerise / Colle di Ciriegia, a scenic saddle that provides stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty.
For those interested in learning more about the area, informational points are scattered along the trail. At 1.15 kilometers from the start, you will find the first information point, with additional points at 4 kilometers and 1.25 kilometers away.
As you approach the summit, at 4.8 kilometers from the start, you will reach the breathtaking Cima di Ciriegia / Cime de Cerise peak. Take in the panoramic views before retracing your steps back to the starting point.
