This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding the German World War II Soldiers Cemetery in Gorice, Grad Zagreb. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 2.536 kilometers and no elevation gain, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
As you start your hike, you will come across several points of interest along the trail. At the beginning of the route, you will find the tomb of Dr. Franje Tuđmana, a historic landmark just 0.62 kilometers from the starting point. Further along the trail, at around 0.92 kilometers, you will encounter the memorial to fallen Croatian soldiers in World War I.
Continuing on, at 1.27 kilometers, you will find a water feature perfect for a rest and a refill of your water supply. For a quick break, there is a restaurant named "Mirni gaj" at 0.31 kilometers from the start. Additionally, there are benches scattered along the trail for hikers to sit and admire the surroundings.
As you near the end of the trail, at around 0.96 kilometers, you will come across a wayside cross, adding a spiritual element to your hike. After enjoying the peaceful surroundings, you can head back the way you came, taking in the same points of interest in reverse order.
