This challenging hiking route will take you to the beautiful Chalet du Col de Balme. The trail spans 8.167 kilometers with an elevation gain of 696 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.

Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by convenient parking areas before beginning your ascent. Along the way, you will come across the informative Col de Balme and boundary stone marking S 1 France. These points of interest are located approximately 4.03 kilometers from the starting point.

Midway through your hike, at around 4.08 kilometers, you will reach the cozy Chalet du Col de Balme where you can take a break and enjoy the stunning alpine surroundings. Nearby, there is also the Le Chalet de Charamillon restaurant for sustenance.

As you continue on your journey, you will encounter various information points and restaurants, such as Le Pcheu and Buvette, offering services along the trail. Make sure to also check out the Les Ecuries de Charamillon restaurant, located approximately 2.24 kilometers from the start, for a well-deserved meal after your hike.

The route is an out-and-back type, so you will retrace your steps on the way back, taking in the breathtaking views once more.
