This hiking route takes you to the beautiful area around Chalet du Col de Balme. The trail is 8.167 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 696 meters, making it a difficult hike. It is an out-and-back route, starting at a parking area nearby.
As you begin your hike, you will pass by a parking area before reaching Le Pcheu, a restaurant where you can grab a meal or a snack before hitting the trail. Further along the route, you will come across a fast food spot called Buvette, perfect for a quick bite. As you continue, you will reach Le Chalet de Charamillon, another restaurant offering sustenance for hikers.
Midway through the hike, you will reach an information point at Col de Balme, where you can learn more about the area and take a break. Nearby, there is a picnic site if you wish to stop for a rest and enjoy the surroundings.
Towards the end of the hike, you will reach Chalet du Col de Balme, an alpine hut where you can relax and take in the stunning views before heading back the way you came.
Remember to bring plenty of water, as this is a challenging hike with significant elevation gain. Check the weather forecast before you go and wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Enjoy the scenic views and nature along the way!
