This challenging 8.305-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning mountainous terrain of the Long Top area. The trail starts at Wrynose Pass and will lead you through various points of interest along the way.
At the beginning of the hike, you will come across the Three Shire Stone, a historic landmark located just 0.04 kilometers from the start of the trail. Further along the route, you will reach Cold Pike, a prominent peak that is 1.83 kilometers from the trail.
As you continue your journey, be sure to visit the Bad Step viewpoint, which offers breathtaking views and is situated 3.86 kilometers into the hike. Along the way, you'll also encounter several water features, including streams and rivers, so be prepared with plenty of water and snacks.
The trail will take you past Gunson Knott and South Top peaks before reaching the highlight of the hike, Long Top peak, which is 4.02 kilometers from the start. From Long Top, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
