This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route takes you through a beautiful alpine area, culminating in a visit to the Rifugio Cibrario.
As you start your journey, you will pass by convenient parking spaces at the beginning of the trail. Make sure to have all your supplies with you, including water and snacks, as this 13.327-kilometer hike with an elevation gain of 1174 meters will challenge even experienced hikers.
Along the way, you will come across several points of interest. About 6.66 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Rifugio Cibrario, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the stunning mountain views.
For those needing a refill, there are drinking water stations at various points along the trail, such as at 0.03, 0.17, and 0.07 kilometers from the start. Additionally, you can find the Fontane della Lera spring at 3.55 kilometers from the start.
Historic wayside shrines are scattered throughout the route, providing a glimpse into the area's cultural heritage. Make sure to stop by these landmarks, such as the ones located at 0.07, 0.95, 0.36, 0.45, 0.61, and 0.17 kilometers from the start.
As you venture further, you will reach Monte Bassa, a natural peak located 1.97 kilometers into the hike. This is a great spot to take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
