This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Cerro San Luis. The trail is 3.574 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 330 meters, making it of moderate difficulty. It is an out-and-back route, meaning you will retrace your steps on the way back.
As you start your hike, you will pass by Centro de Interpretacion La Toreadora, a cafe located right by the trail. This is a great spot to grab a quick snack before continuing on your journey. Just a short distance from the start, you will also come across Refugio Toreadora, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the view.
About 0.39 kilometers from the beginning, you will find Marmolcocha, a water spot that is slightly off the trail. This is a good landmark to keep in mind as you make your way towards Cerro San Luis. Chica Pallcacocha is another water feature along the route, located 0.78 kilometers from the start.
As you approach the peak of Cerro San Luis, be sure to stop by the viewpoint at 1.79 kilometers from the beginning. From here, you can admire the breathtaking scenery before reaching the summit. Additionally, there is an information point called Baracca located right on the trail.
