This challenging circular hiking route will take you through the stunning Veľký Choč area.
Starting at the parking lot near "záchytné parkovisko pre turistov na Choč," you will begin your journey towards "Veľký Choč," a majestic peak that offers breathtaking panoramic views. Along the way, you will pass by the "Hotel Choč" wilderness hut, where you can take a break and enjoy some rest.
As you continue your ascent, you will come across informative signposts such as "Stredná Poľana," "Veľký Choč," "Zimná cesta," and "Info Chrblík - LES," providing you with interesting insights into the flora and fauna of the region.
Don't forget to hydrate yourself from the various natural springs along the trail, such as "prameň Likavky" and "Vodárenský zdroj 1. stupňa." Additionally, you can refuel at "Jánošíkova krčma" restaurant located at the beginning of the hike.
As you reach the summit of Veľký Choč, you will encounter several viewpoints where you can marvel at the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The area also features historical landmarks like "Spominame na Jozefa 1986" memorial and boundary stones marking the top of Choča.
This 10.3-kilometer hike with an elevation gain of 930 meters is not for the faint of heart.
