This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of "El Hipopótamo - Senda Maeso". The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 6.136 kilometers and an elevation gain of 379 meters, offering a moderate level of difficulty.

As you start your hike, you will come across several points of interest along the trail. Close to the beginning, you will find "Parking de Casa Julián" for convenient parking. Further along, at just 0.04 kilometers from the start, you can stop at "Hotel El Tranco" for a quick rest or meal at their restaurant. Additionally, "El Jardón de las Delicias" pub is located right at the beginning of the trail for a refreshing drink.

As you continue on the route, approximately 1.15 kilometers from the start, you will reach "Placas Musgogénesis", a natural rock formation worth exploring. Midway through your hike, you'll encounter "Placas de las Nueve" shelter at 1.22 kilometers from the start and "Placas del Emilio" rock formation at 1.07 kilometers. These spots provide great resting points and photo opportunities.

Moving forward, at around 3.01 kilometers from the start, you'll find "Collado del Avispadero" saddle, offering a picturesque view of the surroundings. Further along, at 3.07 kilometers, you will reach various peaks like "Risco del Pilón", "Risco del Ofertorio", and more. These peaks provide panoramic views of the area, making them great spots to take in the scenery.

Finally, the trail leads you to "Cueva del Diente" cave entrance at 1.07 kilometers from the start and "El Hipopótamo" rock formation at 2.65 kilometers. These unique geological features add an extra element of interest to your hike.
