This extremely difficult 15.156-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the beautiful area around Rifugio Antonella Panepucci-Alessandri in Strada Provinciale 86 del Vasto - L'Aquila. The trail features an elevation gain of 785 meters and will take approximately 5 hours and 28 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across Fontanile San Vincenzo, a drinking water source just 0.24 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. It is advisable to refill your water bottles here before continuing on the challenging hike ahead.
Midway through the hike, at 3.38 kilometers from the start, you will encounter Madonna degli Alpini, a cave entrance that adds an interesting element to the natural surroundings.
Further along the trail, at 7.22 kilometers from the start, you will reach Rifugio Antonella Panepucci-Alessandri, an alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy the scenic views of the area. The hut provides accommodation for hikers seeking a longer stay in the mountains.
