Strada Forte Sant'Elena

This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Strada Forte Sant'Elena. The trail is 2.715 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 77 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels. The estimated duration for this hike is around 49 minutes.

As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area (0.0 km from the start) where you can leave your car before heading out on the trail. Midway through the hike, at around 0.58 km from the start, you will find the Memoria caduti memorial, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by past generations.

Continuing on, at approximately 0.6 km from the start, you will encounter a water feature (natural category) which offers a refreshing sight along the trail. As you reach the 0.99 km mark, you will have the opportunity to explore the peak of Monte Rocchetto, providing stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Further along the route, at 1.33 km from the start, you will pass by the Decollo Parapendio launch site for free flying enthusiasts. Nearby, at the same distance, you will find the ruins of an ancient structure adding a touch of historic charm to your hike.

As you approach the endpoint of the trail at 1.36 km from the start, you will come across Forte S. Elena, a historic castle that offers a glimpse into the region's past. Additionally, you can visit the Lavatoio storico (historic washhouse) at 0.25 km from the start and the cave entrance at 0.58 km from the start, adding to the variety of experiences this hike has to offer.
