The Sentier de la Charvaz hiking route is a challenging circular trail that spans a distance of 7.66 kilometers and features an elevation gain of 532 meters. The total duration of the hike is estimated to be around 3 hours and 6 minutes.

The trail starts at a parking area and heads towards the Belvédère d'Ontex Grumeau viewpoint, located just 0.02 kilometers from the beginning. As you continue on the trail, you will come across Chez Nadine, a fast food spot also at 0.02 kilometers from the start.

One of the highlights of the hike is the Belvédère de la Charvaz viewpoint, situated 3.2 kilometers from the starting point. From there, you can enjoy panoramic views of Mont Charvaz, a peak located at 3.25 kilometers from the start. Close by is the Col de la Charvaz saddle, providing a unique natural setting.

Along the way, you will also encounter informational points such as Sous la Charvaz, La Bouli, L'Arcelet, and Point de vue « des Tables ». These points offer insights into the surroundings and landmarks you may come across during the hike.

It's important to note that the Grottes du Communal cave entrance is located off the trail at 0.82 kilometers from the start, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly.
