The hiking route on the GR20 - GR20 trail offers a challenging and rewarding experience for avid hikers. Stretching over 12.74 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1018 meters, this extremely difficult trail will test your endurance and provide stunning views of the Corsican landscape.
Starting at the parking area, hikers will begin their journey with a visit to the Col de Vizzavona, a natural saddle located just 0.09 kilometers from the start. Along the way, you will encounter the Bergerie des Pozzi shelter at 1.22 kilometers, where you can take a break and refuel before continuing on. Further along the trail, at 6.37 kilometers, you will pass by a captivating rock formation.
For those interested in the history of the area, be sure to explore the ruins of the Fort de Vizzavona, located nearby the trail. Information points are scattered throughout the hike, providing valuable insights into the natural and cultural attractions of the region.
As you trek onwards, you may come across the Fontaine des bergeries des Pozzi spring at 1.22 kilometers, offering a refreshing stop to rest and replenish your water supply. The trail also passes by the Punta di Zorpi peak and the Punta di Zorpi viewpoint, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings.
