Welcome to the hiking route to Pic Chaussy! This challenging 8.786-kilometer trail will take you on an adventure through beautiful natural scenery with an elevation gain of 857 meters.
You will start your journey at the parking area located right at the beginning of the trail. Make sure to pack plenty of water and snacks for this difficult hike. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across two more parking areas, one midway through the hike and another close to the endpoint.
About 3.47 kilometers into the hike, you will find an information point where you can learn more about the local area. As you continue onwards, at the 4.39-kilometer mark, you will reach Pic Chaussy, a majestic peak where you can enjoy breathtaking views from a viewpoint. Don't forget to stop by the picnic site nearby to refuel and take in the stunning surroundings.
For those looking to relax after the hike, there is a restaurant called Buvette d'alpage des Petits Lacs located 2.65 kilometers from the start. Additionally, you will find several benches along the trail where you can rest and enjoy the peaceful ambiance.
Throughout the hike, you will also find drinking water sources to refill your water bottle and stay hydrated. The trail is an out-and-back type, so you will retrace your steps on the way back to the starting point.
