This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Mirador del Peñón de Granada. Spanning a distance of 15.056 kilometers with an elevation gain of 874 meters, this challenging trail is not for the faint of heart.
Starting off at the parking area, you'll find yourself at the trailhead ready to embark on this adventure. As you make your way along the trail, you'll encounter various points of interest. About 7.14 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across the majestic peak known as Peñón de Granada. Although not directly on the trail, this natural wonder is worth a visit for its breathtaking views.
Further along the trail at around 7.37 kilometers, you'll reach a saddle where you can take a moment to rest and enjoy the scenery. If you find yourself in need of sustenance, a fast food joint named Asadero Churrería Palacio is located 0.29 kilometers from the trail, offering a quick bite to eat.
For a refreshing break, a fountain is situated nearby at the beginning of the trail. And if you're in the mood for a more leisurely meal, a restaurant called Asadero Churrería Palacio awaits you at the start of the hike.
As you near the endpoint of the trail, you'll reach the viewpoint of Mirador del Peñón de Granada, offering panoramic views that make the strenuous journey well worth it. Additionally, an information point is located nearby, providing insights into the area's history and geography.
