This extremely difficult 18.359-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Monte Corona in a picturesque area. Make sure to pack plenty of water and snacks, as the hike includes an elevation gain of 1502 meters and will take around 8 hours to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Refuge de l´Ortu di u Piobbu at around 6.92 kilometers from the trail's starting point. This alpine hut can be a great spot to rest and take in the beautiful surroundings.
Further along the trail, at approximately 6.79 kilometers from the start, you will find the Bivouac de l'Ortu di u Piobbu campsite, offering a great place to spend the night if you are looking to extend your hike.
As you continue on, you will reach the Bocca di Tartagine saddle at 8.04 kilometers, which provides a breathtaking viewpoint to catch your breath and admire the scenery.
The highlight of the hike is the Monte Corona peak, located at 9.18 kilometers from the trailhead. The challenging climb to the peak offers stunning panoramic views as a reward for your efforts.
Along the way, you will also find a parking area at the beginning of the trail, making it convenient for hikers to start their adventure. Additionally, a spring is located approximately 6.85 kilometers from the start, providing a refreshing water source.
