This hiking route takes you to the beautiful area surrounding Cuello Petralba, offering stunning views and a challenging trek. With a total distance of 24.98 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1081 meters, this hike is classified as extremely difficult and is recommended for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by a parking area at the beginning of the route, making it convenient to leave your vehicle before setting off. As you make your way along the trail, you will come across the Ermita de San Salvador, a historic ruins site located approximately 8.97 kilometers from the start. This spot is a great place to take a break and immerse yourself in the area's history.
Further along the trail, at around 11.7 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Collado de Petralba, a natural saddle offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This makes for a perfect spot to rest and enjoy a snack while taking in the scenery.
Continuing on, you will eventually reach the high points of Cuello Petralba, including Punta Petralba, which is approximately 12.13 kilometers from the start. These peaks provide incredible views of the terrain below, rewarding you for your efforts on the challenging ascent.
As this route is an out-and-back trail, you will retrace your steps on the way back, passing by the picnic site located at around 8.97 kilometers from the start.
