This hiking route takes you through the beautiful alpine landscape near Steiner-Hochalm. The trail is 5.486 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 475 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area, which is right at the trailhead. You can park your vehicle here before starting the hike. Just a short distance from the start, you will find the Hauserbauer information point, where you can learn more about the area.
Continuing on the trail, at about 2.51 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the Lenzbauer information point and another information point further ahead. At this point, you can also take a break at the Hauserbauer restaurant, located 0.18 kilometers from the start.
As you make your way up the trail, you will come across a wayside cross, adding a touch of historic charm to your hike. There are also benches along the trail, perfect for taking a rest and enjoying the scenery. At around 2.72 kilometers from the start, you will find a drinking water point to refill your water bottles.
The highlight of the hike is the Steiner-Hochalm alpine hut, located 2.74 kilometers from the start. Here, you can take a well-deserved break, enjoy the stunning views, and perhaps indulge in some traditional alpine cuisine.
