Welcome to the Berghagen hiking route!
Berghagen is a beautiful area for hiking, offering a relatively easy route with a total distance of 2.918 kilometers and no elevation gain. The trail is an out-and-back type, meaning you will retrace your steps on the way back.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Drachenwiese parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. This is a convenient spot to leave your vehicle before embarking on your hike.
Further along the trail, at about 0.61 kilometers from the start, you will find the Walter von der Vogelweide memorial. Although not directly on the trail, this historic site is worth a visit to pay homage to the renowned poet.
At 1.46 kilometers into the hike, there is a shelter and a water source nearby. This can be a good spot to rest and refuel before continuing on your journey.
Along the way, there are several information points that provide insights into the local flora and fauna, such as Altholz und Naturverjüngung, Elsbeere, Stieleiche, and Totholz im Wald.
As you approach the midway point of the trail, you will encounter a bench where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.
At 0.18 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Himmelspforte viewpoint, offering stunning vistas of the area.
Before setting out on the Berghagen hiking route, make sure to bring an ample water supply, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast. Additionally, be prepared for an easy hike with no significant elevation changes.
