This challenging hike takes you through the stunning Charmette area along the Route du Col du Glandon. The total distance of the route is approximately 6.8 kilometers with an elevation gain of 517 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
As you start your hike, you'll come across various points of interest along the trail. Around 3.18 kilometers from the beginning, you'll find a rock formation that offers a scenic spot to rest and take in the views. Moving along the trail, at around 2.41 kilometers, there are more rock formations to admire, some closer to the trail than others. At this point, there is also a rock formation just 7 meters from the trail—a perfect photo opportunity!
Around 2.24 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a restaurant where you can refuel and take a break. Further along at 0.37 kilometers, there is a water source to replenish your supplies. For convenient parking, there is a parking area right at the beginning of the trail.
Be sure to check the weather forecast before embarking on this hike and bring plenty of water as the trail can be challenging. Additionally, it's a good idea to wear sturdy hiking boots and pack some snacks to keep your energy levels up.
