This challenging 8.406-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the breathtaking landscapes of the area, offering stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way.
Starting at the Aldaola parking area, you will begin your journey towards the San Adriango mendi-aterpea alpine hut, located just 0.5 kilometers from the starting point. As you continue on, at about 3.13 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Aizkorriko Aterpea wilderness hut, where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.
Along the trail, you will encounter various points of interest such as the Estación megalítica de Aizkorri, the Gipuzkoa-Araba Partzuergoa, and the Aitxuri peak, located at about 3.57 kilometers from the start.
As you hike further, you'll come across the Aketegiko erpina peak at 4.12 kilometers from the start, followed by the Illarrabeltxeko gaina peak at 3.93 kilometers. The trail will also lead you to the Baratzondoko iturria drinking water point at the halfway mark, about 0.5 kilometers from the start.
Before embarking on this hike, make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. Due to the length of the route and an elevation gain of 734 meters, this hike is considered difficult and should only be attempted by experienced hikers.
