Welcome to the hiking route near Castillon-de-Larboust! This challenging 8.762-kilometer trail will take you on an adventure through stunning natural landscapes with an elevation gain of 1076 meters.

At the beginning of your journey, you will pass by Aparcamiento Hospital de Benasque, a convenient parking area. As you continue, you will encounter the beautiful Lac du Port Vieil, situated around 3.84 kilometers from the start of the trail. Although the lake is not directly on the trail, it is definitely worth a short detour to admire its beauty.

Further along the route, you will come across the mesmerizing Cascada de Gorgutes waterfall, located 0.43 kilometers from the start. This stunning waterfall is a perfect spot to take a break, enjoy the scenery, and recharge before continuing your trek.

As you make your way back, be sure to stop by the Port Vieil / Puerto Viejo saddle, approximately 3.17 kilometers from the starting point. This natural formation offers panoramic views and a great photo opportunity.

For those seeking a challenge, there are two peaks along the trail. While one peak is located just 0.02 kilometers off the path, the other is 4.38 kilometers from the start. Both peaks offer breathtaking views of the surrounding area and are ideal locations to soak in the beauty of the landscape.

This out-and-back route will take approximately 4 hours and 43 minutes to complete. As a difficult trail, it is important to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear. Additionally, checking the weather forecast before embarking on your journey is always a good idea to ensure a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.
