This hiking route takes you through the stunning natural beauty of the Rieseneishöhle area. With a total distance of 6.422 kilometers and an elevation gain of 746 meters, this trail is rated as difficult, suitable for experienced hikers.

Starting at the Talstation Krippenstein-Seilbahn, you will begin your journey. Just 0.07 kilometers into the hike, you'll pass by the Obertraun Dachsteinseilbahn. As you continue, at 2.02 kilometers, you'll come across the Stubenbodenquelle, a beautiful natural spring. The Schönbergalm restaurant is located 2.73 kilometers from the start, providing a great spot to refuel and rest before continuing on.

Further along the trail, at 3.06 kilometers, you'll find the Rieseneishöhle cave entrance (Ausgang). While not directly on the trail, it's a fascinating natural wonder worth exploring if you have the time. At the 3.13 kilometer mark, you'll reach Bamhittl viewpoint and shelter, offering a picturesque stop to take in the breathtaking views of the surroundings.

As you approach the turnaround point at 3.21 kilometers, you'll find the Freesports Arena Dachstein Krippenstein and a viewpoint for a final glimpse of the landscape before heading back.
