This challenging out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Pico de Barrosa in the beautiful wilderness. The trail covers a distance of 11.45 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1043 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous but rewarding adventure.
Starting from the parking area at the trailhead, you will begin your journey towards the peak. Along the way, you will pass by the Pic de l'Aiguillette, a majestic peak located 2.25 kilometers from the start. Enjoy the breathtaking views as you make your way to the saddle at 2.74 kilometers.
Continue your ascent towards the main highlight of the hike, Pico de Barrosa, standing tall at 5.73 kilometers from the starting point. Take in the panoramic views from the summit and marvel at the natural beauty surrounding you.
As you make your way back, you will also come across other peaks such as Pic de Port Vieux and Soum de Barroude. A shelter is located 2.77 kilometers from the start, providing a cozy spot to rest and refuel before continuing your journey.
It is important to come prepared with plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear.
