This hiking route on SP12 offers a moderate level of difficulty, spanning approximately 5.7 kilometers with an elevation gain of 391 meters. The route is an out-and-back trail, starting at a parking area with no fee.

As you begin your journey, you will pass by a natural water source about 2 kilometers into the hike. Continuing on, you will come across another water spot at around 2.3 kilometers, which is directly on the trail. Along the way, you will also encounter several notable rock formations, adding to the scenic beauty of the trail.

At around 2.8 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Corno d'Aquilio, a viewpoint and peak that offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the scenery before heading back.

Additionally, there are some interesting points of interest such as Grotta del ciabattino, a cave entrance located about 2.1 kilometers into the hike, and Spluga della Preta, another cave entrance located at around the 2-kilometer mark.
