Welcome to the Himmelsleitergraben hiking route! This circular trail offers a 3.714-kilometer adventure through scenic landscapes with an elevation gain of 340 meters, making it a moderately challenging hike. The estimated duration for this hike is 1 hour and 42 minutes.
As you start your journey, you'll come across the Domaine Hirtz restaurant just 0.02 kilometers away from the trail. This is a great spot to fuel up before your hike. Further along the trail at 0.24 kilometers, you'll find the Ancien cimetière du Möllendorf, an ancient cemetery worth exploring.
During your hike, make sure to check out the Rocher du Hirtzenstein viewpoint at the beginning for stunning views. As you continue, you'll encounter the Rocher de Quartzite and the ruins of Feste Rohrburg and Feste Grossherzog around 1.78 kilometers into the hike, providing historical insights along the way.
At 0.81 kilometers, you'll find Goldbach, a notable attraction, along with the Stèle Ul.R.11 memorial and the Den tapferen Gefallenen memorial at 0.55 and 0.31 kilometers, respectively. Take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty at the 56er Brunnen spring at 0.81 kilometers.
As you near the end of the trail, you'll reach various viewpoints, including Jacques Chambaud and Bieberstein memorials at 1.16 and 0.38 kilometers, respectively. Rest and take in the surroundings at the benches and Leopoldsbad spring at 1.14 and 0.38 kilometers.
