This challenging hike takes you on a circular route to Col de la Pra and the northwest ridge of Grand Colon. The trail covers a distance of approximately 10.9 kilometers and includes an elevation gain of 1086 meters, making it a difficult trek that will take around 5 hours to complete.
Starting at Pré Raymond parking lot, you will begin your journey towards Col de la Pra. Along the way, you will pass by Les 3 Ruisseaux, where you can take a moment to admire the surroundings and gather some information about the area. As you continue onwards, you will encounter informative signposts providing insights into the local flora, fauna, and geography.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Col de la Pra, a saddle offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Take some time to rest and enjoy the scenery before heading towards the northwest ridge of Grand Colon. While the peak itself is slightly off the trail, it provides a spectacular viewpoint worth the extra effort.
As you make your way back, make sure to stop at various viewpoints along the route, such as Le Galeteau, for more breathtaking sights.
