This hiking route to Klauskofel is an extremely difficult 14.368-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 732 meters. The total duration for this hike is approximately 5 hours and 9 minutes.
The trail starts at a parking area where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this challenging journey. As you begin your hike, you will come across the Oblasser Stausee, a picturesque water body located 1.43 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take in some beautiful views and maybe even have a quick break before continuing on your adventure.
As you hike onwards, you will pass by another water feature around the 3-kilometer mark, providing a refreshing sight and a chance to refill your water bottle if needed. Around the 7-kilometer mark, you will reach the peak of Klauskofel, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. This is a great spot to take some photos and soak in the natural beauty of the region.
Throughout the trail, you will also come across various information points where you can learn more about the area and its history.
