This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Lago di Cima d'Asta - Trodo dei Aseni area. The trail covers a total distance of 12.25 kilometers with an elevation gain of 996 meters, so be prepared for a challenging adventure.
Starting from the trailhead, you will first come across Malga Sorgazza, where you can park your vehicle before beginning your hike. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by Rifugio Malga Sorgazza, a cozy alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some local cuisine.
Further along the route, you will encounter Monumento ai caduti 1915-18, a historic monument that serves as a reminder of the area's significance. As you continue trekking, you will reach the stunning Bacino di Sorgazza, providing a picturesque spot to rest and take in the views.
Midway through the hike, you will find Rifugio Cima d'Asta Ottone Brentari, another alpine hut offering accommodation options if you wish to extend your stay in this beautiful region.
