This extremely difficult 18.683-kilometer circular hike takes you on a challenging journey through the stunning area of Via Mottarone. With an elevation gain of 1218.0 meters, this hike is not for the faint-hearted but promises breathtaking views and exciting experiences along the way.
Starting off at the parking area near Il Rifugio di Granerolo, you will pass by historic sites such as the Lavatoio di Granerolo and the Fontana Speranza. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across viewpoints like Motto Bandiera and Ippopotamo, where you can catch your breath and admire the beauty of the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, you'll find the Alpe Nuovo alpine hut, a perfect spot to rest and refuel before continuing on. Make sure to stay hydrated by drinking from the numerous drinking water fountains along the trail.
Towards the end of the hike, you'll encounter the Madonna del Carmelo wayside shrine and conclude your journey back at the starting point.
