Welcome to the hiking route on Gafadurastrasse! This challenging out-and-back trail spans a distance of 8.614 kilometers with an elevation gain of 939 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is around 4 hours and 20 minutes.
The trail starts at a parking area located at the beginning of the route. As you venture into the hike, you will come across the impressive Gafadurahütte alpine hut at 1.86 kilometers from the start. This is a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the stunning surroundings.
Continuing on, at 3.03 kilometers from the start, you will find the Sattelspitz peak. Although not directly on the trail, it offers a panoramic view worth the extra exploration. At 4.29 kilometers, you will encounter the Jahnturm peak and the Wolan peak, both slightly off the main trail but rewarding for those wishing to extend their hike.
Along the way, be sure to visit the waterfall located 0.11 kilometers from the start, adding a refreshing touch to your journey. Information points are spread throughout the trail, providing insights and guidance at various points.
As you make your way back, at 3.48 kilometers, you will find the Prafazei information point. Additionally, there is a shelter at 0.95 kilometers from the start where you can rest and refuel before continuing your hike.
