This extremely difficult 11.046-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Monte Ruetas area. The trail begins with a parking area near the trailhead, where you can leave your vehicle before starting your adventure.
As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across several points of interest. Throughout the hike, you'll find informative signposts providing valuable information about the area. Around 0.18 kilometers from the start, you'll find a drinking water station where you can refill your water bottles. Further along the trail, at 2.29 kilometers from the start, there is another drinking water station available for hikers.
A little further into the hike, at around 4.18 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter the majestic peak known as Monte Morefreddo. This peak offers breathtaking views and is a great spot to take a break and soak in the beauty of the surroundings. Continuing on, at approximately 5.52 kilometers from the start, you'll reach another peak called Monte Ruetas, which provides panoramic views of the area.
Additionally, at 2.66 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Fontana della pernice spring, where you can rest and enjoy a refreshing break. Along the way, there are also bench facilities available for hikers to take a moment to relax and take in the natural surroundings.
This challenging hike includes an elevation gain of 1265 meters and is expected to take around 5 hours and 43 minutes to complete. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and appropriate hiking gear.
