This hiking route takes you through the stunning alpine landscape of Gran Paradiso National Park. The trail is 10.018 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 745.0 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
Starting at the parking area at the beginning of the trail, you will pass by the Pont Breuil campsite, about 0.33 kilometers into the hike. Further along the trail, at around 1.2 kilometers, you will find Rifugio Tetras Lyre, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the mountain views.
As you continue your ascent, you will reach Rifugio Vittorio Emanuele II Nuovo, another alpine hut located at 4.96 kilometers into the hike. This is a great spot to refuel and rest before tackling the remaining distance to Lago di Montcorve.
At around the 5.01 kilometer mark, you will come across Lago di Montcorve, a beautiful Alpine lake where you can relax and take in the breathtaking surroundings. Along the way, you will also encounter a waterfall at 2.06 kilometers and a viewpoint at 4.68 kilometers, offering stunning vistas of the park.
Throughout the hike, you will find various facilities such as benches, drinking water stations, and information points to enhance your experience. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear, as the trail can be challenging with its length and elevation gain.
