The Hayling Billy Trail is a super easy out-and-back hiking route that spans approximately 1.013 kilometers with no elevation gain.
Starting at the parking area just 0.03 kilometers from the trail, hikers will pass by The Ship Inn, located 0.21 kilometers from the start. This pub provides a great spot to enjoy a meal or a refreshing drink before or after your hike.
Continuing along the trail, you will come across a parking area located 0.19 kilometers from the start, followed by benches at 0.15 kilometers and 0.18 kilometers. These benches offer a good resting spot with views of the surrounding nature.
Approximately halfway through the trail at 0.51 kilometers from the start, you will find the remains of the Hayling Billy Railway Bridge, a historic landmark that adds to the scenic charm of the hike.
Further along the trail, at 0.31 kilometers and 0.45 kilometers from the start, you will encounter beaches where you can take a break and enjoy the coastal views.
For additional historical interest, at 0.45 kilometers from the start, you will pass by the remains of the Bembridge - Langstone Ferry dock, providing a glimpse into the area's past.
Before completing the trail, at 0.18 kilometers from the start, an information board and a viewpoint offer insight into the surroundings and make for great photo opportunities.
