This hiking route will take you through the stunning area around Schlierekopf, offering breathtaking views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 9.871 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1113 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take around 5 hours to complete.
As you start your hike, you will pass by the beautiful peak of Engelspitze, located 4.38 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Further along the trail, at 4.74 kilometers, you will reach Schlierejoch, a saddle that offers a picturesque resting point and an opportunity to admire the natural beauty of the area.
Midway through the hike, at 4.01 kilometers from the start, you will encounter the peak of Englspitzle, followed by the peak of Schlierekopf at 4.94 kilometers. These peaks provide stunning vantage points to appreciate the rugged terrain and rocky landscape.
Remember to bring plenty of water and snacks as there are no amenities directly on the trail. However, there are options for sustenance nearby, such as the Namloser Hof restaurant at the beginning of the trail and Gasthaus Kreuz further along. Parking is available at two locations near the trailhead for your convenience.
