This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the Glacier - Tunnel 3000 destination in a stunning area with a total distance of 15.985 kilometers and an elevation gain of 959 meters. Before embarking on this challenging journey, make sure to check the weather forecast and carry an ample water supply.
As you begin your adventure, you will pass by the P6 Parking du Laisinant, conveniently located at the starting point of the trail. Approximately 0.05 kilometers from the start, you will come across Les Richardes campsite, a perfect spot for those looking to rest or stay overnight. Further along the trail, around 3.54 kilometers in, you will find L'Ouillette restaurant where you can refuel and recharge.
Around 4.06 kilometers into the hike, you will reach a cafe named L'Ouillette, providing a great place to grab a snack or a warm beverage. Continuing on, at approximately 4.18 kilometers from the start, you will encounter Col de l'Iseran spring, a natural source of water to replenish your supplies.
Heading deeper into the hike, at 6.54 kilometers from the beginning, you will reach Col de la Madeleine saddle, offering a picturesque spot to enjoy a break and take in the surrounding scenery. The trail also features two water points at 7.35 and 7.99 kilometers, perfect for filling up your water bottles.
With nearly 16 kilometers of challenging terrain and nearly 6 hours of hiking, this route will certainly test your endurance and stamina. Be prepared for a strenuous adventure filled with breathtaking views and memorable experiences along the way.
