This difficult 9.455-kilometer circular T2 hiking trail takes you through the picturesque area near Refuge d'Altmatt. The trail starts at the parking area located at the beginning of the route. As you begin your hike, you will come across Grossmann Peak at 1.8 kilometers from the start, although it's not directly on the trail.
Continuing on, at 2.41 kilometers from the start, you will reach Refuge d'Altmatt, a shelter where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature. The trail then leads you to Col du Narion, a saddle located at 3.56 kilometers from the start, offering stunning viewpoints along the way.
Baraque des Juifs, another shelter, can be found at 3.56 kilometers from the start, providing a nice spot to rest before you continue on to Rocher de Mutzig at 4.44 kilometers from the beginning.
At the 4.46-kilometer mark, you will reach another viewpoint at Rocher de Mutzig, providing a different perspective of the landscape. Along the way, you will also encounter a spring at 2.45 kilometers and another at 2.45 kilometers from the start, offering fresh water supply.
