Hiking : Goljak

Italy Friuli – Venezia Giulia Trieste Duino Aurisina / Devin - Nabrežina

This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Goljak. The trail is an out-and-back route with a total distance of 3.219 kilometers and an elevation gain of 106 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.

As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail. Further along, there is a shelter for a quick rest stop. Around 1.52 kilometers into the hike, you will find the Grotta Karl o del pilone/ Karlova jama cave entrance, a must-see natural attraction.

Continuing on, you will encounter Dosso Trebini / Hrbec peak at the midway point, offering stunning views of the surroundings. Along the way back, there are more points of interest such as the Fontana drinking water station and the Grotta Zita o della gavetta / Citina jama cave entrance.

Lastly, make sure to stop by the wayside shrine at 0.06 kilometers from the start of the trail. Additionally, there are benches scattered along the trail to provide hikers with resting spots.
