Welcome to the Šimková hiking route! This 11.5-kilometer long trail offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for hikers.
The route begins at a parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before starting your adventure. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by a refreshing spring about two-thirds of the way through your journey, perfect for refilling your water bottle. Along the way, you will also encounter several benches where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.
One of the highlights of this hike is the Taricové skaly peak, located at around the 4.9-kilometer mark. This viewpoint offers stunning panoramic views of the area, making it a great spot to stop and soak in the scenery.
At the midway point, you will come across Sedlo Skalka, an information point where you can learn more about the history and geology of the region. As you continue on, be sure to keep an eye out for Sološnická dolina and Sološnícka dolina, two picturesque valleys that you will pass by.
Towards the end of the trail, you will reach a viewpoint at Horný vrch, offering another opportunity to take in the beauty of the surroundings. Finally, as you make your way back to the starting point, don't forget to check out Hajduškové cave entrance, a natural wonder that adds an extra element of intrigue to your hike.
With an elevation gain of 454 meters, this hike is considered difficult and is best suited for experienced hikers. Be sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before setting out.
