This extremely difficult 17.128-kilometer circular hiking route will lead you to the breathtaking Monte Formicula in Corsica. The hike has an elevation gain of 1396 meters and is estimated to take around 7 hours and 27 minutes to complete.
Starting off the trail, you will come across the picturesque Cascade d'Undella waterfall located at about 3.8 kilometers from the beginning. As you continue, you will pass by the Bergerie de Bianca wilderness hut at 4.84 kilometers, a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the views.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the Bocca di Bianca saddle at 5.4 kilometers, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Nearby, at the same distance point, there is also a viewpoint called Monte Formicula, providing a perfect vantage point to admire the beauty of the area.
Further along the trail, at around 8.43 kilometers, you will encounter the peak of Monte Formicula itself, a challenging yet rewarding climb offering spectacular views from the top. Don't forget to check out the Source de Bianca spring at 4.84 kilometers, a refreshing spot to refill your water supplies.
As you make your way back, you will pass by A Teghia di Bridicula peak at 7.29 kilometers, offering one last glimpse of the stunning Corsican landscape before reaching the end of the trail.
