This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route covers a distance of 22.669 kilometers with an elevation gain of 758 meters. The total duration for this challenging hike is estimated to be around 7 hours and 8 minutes.
The trail starts in a picturesque area near Wasserkraftwerk Hintermuhr, a hydroelectric power plant at the beginning of the route. As you embark on your journey, you'll come across various points of interest. Approximately 2.56 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a shelter where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.
As you continue along the trail, at around 1.57 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter Samson Muhr Mur, a notable landmark to explore. Further along the route, at a distance of 10.7 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Maierhofalm, an alpine hut perfect for a pit stop.
Around the midway point of the hike, at 11.33 kilometers from the start, you'll find Ochsenalm, another alpine hut where you can rest and refuel before heading back. Along the way, you'll also come across various information points and benches for additional comfort and insights into the surrounding area.
As you make your way back, at approximately 1.46 kilometers from the start, you can stop at Gasthof Post - Mesnerwirt, a restaurant where you can treat yourself to a well-deserved meal.
