This extremely difficult 13.286-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the breathtaking area of Calvitero. With an elevation gain of 704 meters and a duration of approximately 4 hours and 50 minutes, this challenging trail offers stunning views and unique points of interest along the way.
As you begin your journey, you will come across "El Travieso," a parking area located right at the start of the trail. This is a convenient spot to leave your vehicle before embarking on the hike. Further along the trail, at a distance of 4.54 kilometers from the start, you will encounter "Cueva de Hoyamoros," a shelter where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, at a distance of 6.6 kilometers from the start, you will reach "Paso del Diablo," a saddle known for its scenic views. Make sure to stop and admire the landscape before continuing your trek towards "Collado de Los Buitres," another saddle located at 5.9 kilometers from the start.
At the 6.62-kilometer mark, you will reach the highlight of the hike, "Calvitero," a peak offering panoramic views of the area. This is a great spot to rest and take in the beauty of the surroundings. Nearby, you will also find a shelter called "Vivac" where you can pause for a snack or a rest.
Throughout the hike, you will also come across various peaks and springs, adding to the natural beauty of the trail. Keep in mind that this hike is extremely difficult due to its length and elevation gain, so make sure to be prepared with proper hiking gear, plenty of water, and snacks.
