This hiking route, known as Senda La Maliza, is located in a beautiful area with stunning landscapes. The trail stretches for approximately 12.883 kilometers and boasts an elevation gain of 618 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike suitable for experienced hikers.
As you embark on your journey, you will come across various points of interest along the way. Your adventure begins at the parking area named El Travieso, where you can leave your vehicle and start the hike. Make sure to bring enough water and snacks for the trip as the route can be challenging.
About 4.54 kilometers into the hike, you will reach Cueva de Hoyamoros, a shelter where you can take a break and enjoy some rest. Continuing on, at around 5.9 kilometers, you will arrive at Collado de Los Buitres, a saddle offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
The trail will then lead you to several peaks, including one at 6.11 kilometers, 6.26 kilometers, and others at varying distances. These peaks provide a great opportunity to take in panoramic views of the landscape and appreciate the beauty of nature.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 5.55 kilometers, you will encounter a spring where you can refill your water bottles and take a refreshing break. As you progress further, you will also pass by a memorial at 4.87 kilometers, adding a touch of historic significance to your adventure.
Towards the end of the hike, at 4.99 kilometers, there is a shelter named Vivac, where you can rest before completing the circular route. Remember to check the weather forecast before heading out and ensure you are well-prepared for this challenging and rewarding hiking experience.
