Welcome to the Senda La Maliza hiking route, a challenging circular trail that spans approximately 12.04 kilometers with an elevation gain of 585 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.
The route starts at El Travieso parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on your adventure. As you begin your hike, you'll come across Cueva de Hoyamoros, a shelter located 4.54 kilometers from the starting point, providing a great spot to take a break and admire the surroundings.
Continuing on, you'll reach Collado de Los Buitres at 5.9 kilometers into the hike, a saddle offering panoramic views of the area. As you trek further, you'll encounter several peaks including one at the 6-kilometer mark, where you can enjoy stunning vistas, and another at 6.0 kilometers that offers a challenging ascent.
At around 5.55 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a spring, perfect for refilling your water supply. Along the way, you'll also pass by a memorial located 4.87 kilometers from the start, serving as a reminder of the area's historic significance.
As you approach the end of the trail, approximately 4.99 kilometers in, you'll come across a shelter known as Vivac, providing a cozy resting spot before completing your journey.
