This challenging hiking route will take you to the stunning area of Le Brec d'Utelle. The trail covers a distance of 11.315 kilometers with an elevation gain of 722 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
As you start your journey, you will pass by a parking area, and soon after, you will reach Bouche de Castel Gineste, a picturesque saddle about 2.39 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Continuing on, you will encounter Le Castel Gineste peak at 2.57 kilometers, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
Along the way, you will find information points providing insights into the local flora, fauna, and history of the area. There are also opportunities to hydrate as you pass by a drinking water point around 0.07 kilometers into the hike.
Midway through the hike, you will come across Le Brec d'Utelle peak, standing tall at 5.66 kilometers into the trail. This is a great spot to take a break and admire the panoramic scenery.
It is important to note that there are facilities such as benches scattered along the trail for hikers to rest and enjoy the surroundings. Check out the Martinon restaurant located just 0.03 kilometers from the start for a post-hike meal.
