This hiking route to Pic Gallinasse is located in a beautiful area, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back type with a total distance of 12.054 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1050 meters, making it extremely difficult.
As you start your hike, you will come across the Gîte refuge de Batère, an alpine hut located 0.74 kilometers from the trailhead. This is a great spot to rest and refuel before continuing your journey. Further along the trail at 2.89 kilometers, you will reach the Col de la Cirère, a picturesque saddle where you can take in the surrounding scenery.
Continuing on, at the 5.05 kilometer mark, you will encounter the majestic Pic de Cincreus, a peak that offers panoramic views of the area. As you hike, be sure to stay hydrated and check the weather forecast, as conditions can change rapidly in mountainous terrain.
Midway through the hike, at 6.03 kilometers, you will reach the Pic Gallinasse, another notable peak along the route. From here, you can enjoy a sense of accomplishment and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
On your way back, take a moment to visit the various points of interest such as the Batère informational point at 1.13 kilometers from the start, as well as the Col de la Descarga and Pic de Pel de Ca peaks along the trail.
