Located in the beautiful Lake District National Park, this challenging hiking route to Great Dodd offers stunning views and a chance to connect with nature. The 8.413 km trail with an elevation gain of 681 meters will take you approximately 3 hours and 38 minutes to complete, making it a difficult but rewarding experience.

Starting at the Legburthwaite Car Park, the trail begins with a gradual ascent as you make your way towards Thirlmere. Along the way, you'll pass by a picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. About 1.26 km into the hike, you'll come across a water source perfect for refilling your water bottle.

Further along the trail, at approximately 1.94 km from the start, you'll encounter a picturesque waterfall nestled in the landscape, adding to the beauty of the journey. Keep an eye out for Calfhow Pike, a peak located 2.76 km from the beginning of the trail, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area.

As you continue on, Great Dodd, another peak on the route, becomes visible at around 4.21 km into the hike. The final stretch of the trail involves a challenging ascent to reach the peak, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views as far as the eye can see.
