This hiking route takes you through a picturesque area with stunning views and several points of interest along the way. The trail is an out-and-back type, totaling 5.661 kilometers with an elevation gain of 254 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike. It typically takes around 1 hour and 56 minutes to complete.
Starting at the parking area, you will soon come across a monumental fountain about 0.53 kilometers from the start, providing a refreshing spot to rest and hydrate. Continuing on, at around 1.09 kilometers, you will encounter the historic ruins of "Capitelles jumelles" and the "Tour du Berger," offering a glimpse into the area's past.
As you progress further along the trail, at approximately 2.52 kilometers, you will reach the "Mont Sec" viewpoint, providing a panoramic view of the Aude Valley. Just a bit further, at 2.83 kilometers, there is another viewpoint called "Vue sur la Vallée de l'Aude" offering breathtaking vistas.
Along the way, you will also pass by the "Fontaine monumentale," a beautiful landmark about 0.53 kilometers from the start, and the "Capitelle carrée" archaeological site as well as "Les Trois Brigands de Montazels," both offering a peek into the area's ancient history. Additionally, there are drinking water facilities at 0.53 kilometers from the start to refill your bottle.
