This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Dent de Valère. The trail is 7.155 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 622 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike. It is estimated to take around 3 hours and 12 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across La Gouile, a water feature located 1.26 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Further along, at 1.66 kilometers, you will find Refuge de Valerette, a shelter that offers a place to rest and take in the surroundings.
For those interested in free flying, Chindonne is a takeoff site located right at the beginning of the trail. Additionally, at 2.49 kilometers, there is a drinking water spot to refill your water bottles.
One of the highlights of the hike is reaching Dent de Valère, a peak located 3.54 kilometers from the start of the trail. Make sure to take in the stunning views from this vantage point. Another peak, Dent de Valerette, can be found at 1.48 kilometers from the start.
If you're feeling adventurous, there are free flying takeoff sites at the beginning of the trail and midway through at 0.0 kilometers.
Before embarking on this challenging hike, make sure to check the weather forecast and bring an adequate water supply. Parking is available at the trailhead with no fee, and there is a restaurant, Auberge de Chindonne, located 0.04 kilometers from the start for a post-hike meal.
